7-23-25   THOUGHTS

What is it that I value?  Where do my heart and treasure live?   An accurate answer to those questions determines  “WHO I AM!”  We consider two passage areas today that work the same point.  Issues: 1. What’s important to you?   2.  Who are you trying to impress?   3.  What do you spend your time chasing?  Some called Jesus “Lord”,  and blew it on each of these questions!   Jesus gives us a picture of the fundamental essence of life...  "If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.”  John 13:14   Having the MIND OF CHRIST, we allow Him TO BE LORD of our lives!

Gal 6:12-15    Those who desire to make a good showing in the flesh try to compel you to be circumcised, simply so that they will not be persecuted for the cross of Christ.  13  For those who are circumcised do not even keep the Law themselves, but they desire to have you circumcised so that they may boast in your flesh. 14  But may it never be that I would boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. 15  For neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision,
but a new creation.
Matt 6:17-21  "But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face  18  so that your fasting
will not be noticed by men, but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you. 19  "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20  "But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; 21  for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

A Prayer:
O God, give us minds that love purely and seek to wash feet.  Not self, O Lord, but You and Yours in love.  May our abiding in You be so powerful, O God, that the audience of this world is silenced.  Remind us that we are but pilgrims and sojourners passing through.  Teach us proper valuing and self-scrutiny.  Help us to plant the treasure of our eternity in a proper place.  Revive our spirits in Your direction, O Lord of all.  May You, O Father of  the Christ, be  our reason for living.  Hear us as we praise Your Awesome Name.   It’s in Jesus,   Amen.
